Our talented team of dance instructors at Dance Directions is dedicated to helping you master various dance styles. With years of experience and a passion for teaching, they will guide you through every step with enthusiasm and expertise.

Cierra Rohde
Owner/Director
Cierra is a positive, dedicated artist and teacher with a deep passion for dance, driving her constant pursuit of growth. She loves sharing her knowledge with children and strives to make every class enjoyable while achieving goals. Her competitive choreography has earned multiple awards, including choreography and overall placements. Dancing since age two, Cierra’s accomplishments include performing at the 2013 World Dance Championships in Poland for Team Canada, the 2010 Paralympic opening ceremonies, and various performances in Vancouver and Toronto. She trained with Lamondance and Conteur Dance Academy and has learned from top artists like Heather Dotto, Joshua Beamish, and Ryan Lee. Cierra is eager to explore creative boundaries with new dancers.

James Furnell
Ballet, Jazz and Musical Theater
James trained at the prestigious Bird College in London, where he earned a 1st Class (Hons) degree in Professional Dance and Musical Theatre. His training includes Ballet, Jazz, Tap, Modern, Contemporary, Hip Hop, Musical Theatre, Singing, and Acting. While at Bird, he performed in 9 to 5, Sister Act, and 1984, and has appeared on live TV as a backing dancer and soloist. After moving to Vancouver in 2019, James discovered his passion for teaching dance and is excited to share his love for dancing and performing with students.

Kenneth Paradilla
Hip Hop
Kenneth began dancing at 16 and quickly developed a deep passion for the art form. He has taught choreography across Canada, including Montreal, Winnipeg, and Calgary, and expanded his reach through online classes in Russia, France, Switzerland, Costa Rica, and more. He was also invited to attend the Shake It dance convention in the Dominican Republic. In his professional career, Kenneth has competed and placed in numerous competitions and worked with brands like Lululemon and Vice Magazine. He was a featured performer in the "This is Yoga Campaign." Now based in Vancouver, Kenneth trains and works as an independent artist, focusing on movement intention and the energy of both instrumentals and lyrics.

Emily Sherwood
Acro and Preschool Program
Born and raised on the Sunshine Coast, Emily Sherwood is a warm, fun-loving teacher with a lifelong passion for the arts. As an emotive storyteller, she loves evoking feeling in her work and finds joy in sharing the magic of dance with her students. Emily has extensive training in Hip Hop, Contemporary, Acrobatic, and Jazz dance, and has recently begun studying Tap. She competed in various styles during her teen years and continues to expand her knowledge through ongoing classes. Outside of dance, Emily enjoys caring for her plants, walking in the forest, and drinking tea.
